Statement

My current work pivots between the vessel forms and the more abstracted sculptural forms. The vessel allows me to explore the inherent qualities of the material. I am encouraged to tear, to stretch, to push, to scrape, and to slump. Not only are these forms a way of offering myself up to the process but they reference an homage to the spirit, desire, and inventiveness of ourselves as a species to nurture as metaphor.

The sculptures relate directly to my environment, where I work and live. Paradoxically, they are also reminiscent of the inner landscape of our emotional and spiritual lives, ever changing and evolving.
